The Audio-Technica ATM350GL Guitar Condenser Microphone System provides a professional audio capture solution for acoustic guitars and other stringed instruments. This system centers on the ATM350a cardioid condenser microphone, which delivers a clear and well-balanced response across various frequencies. The microphone handles high sound pressure levels (SPL), allowing for crisp performance even during intense musical sessions.
The system includes the AT8491G UniMount guitar mount designed for instruments with a body depth between 90 mm and 135 mm. This thumbscrew-adjustable clamp attaches securely to the instrument body while providing excellent shock resistance to minimize mechanical noise. The low-profile design of the microphone ensures minimum visibility on stage or in the studio.
Users can achieve accurate microphone placement with the included AT8490L 9-inch gooseneck. This rugged UniMount gooseneck rigidly holds its shape once positioned. This stability ensures the microphone remains in the desired location during aggressive play or movement.
The ATM350a microphone utilizes a cardioid polar pattern to isolate the intended sound source. This directional pick-up reduces the capture of unwanted noise from the sides and rear of the microphone. The included in-line power module features a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter. Activating this filter helps control undesired ambient low-frequency noise and rumble.
The ATM350GL system offers flexibility for different instrument types. It includes an AT8468 violin mount with a hook-and-loop fastener to provide an additional mounting option for smaller stringed instruments. The microphone also supports interchangeable elements, allowing users to switch to hypercardioid or omnidirectional polar patterns as needed. A protective carrying case is included to house the microphone and its components during transport and storage.
