The Audio-Technica AT8492S Surface Mount System provides a specialized mounting solution for the ATM350a Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone. This system enables secure microphone placement on accordions and other instruments with challenging mounting surfaces. The kit consists of the AT8491S Surface Mount and the AT8490 5-inch Gooseneck.
The AT8492S supports two distinct attachment methods to accommodate different user needs.
The notched mount can be attached permanently to an instrument. This process utilizes the accordion’s grille screw and an included adhesive silicon pad to ensure a stable and lasting connection.
For non-permanent applications, the system includes fastener tape pads. These pads allow for quick attachment and removal without altering the instrument's hardware.
A transparent protective film is included in the package. This film acts as a barrier to prevent damage to the instrument’s finish during the mounting and use of the system.
The AT8490 5-inch gooseneck provides a strong yet flexible structure for precise microphone positioning. A dedicated locking screw secures the gooseneck within the mount’s socket. This mechanism maintains the microphone’s position regardless of how much the instrument moves during a performance.
