The Audio-Technica AT8024 Stereo/Mono Camera-Mount Microphone (AT8024) is a selectable mono or mid-side stereo microphone featuring an integrated camera shoe mount, a three-position input pad, and a red/green LED power indicator.
The Audio-Technica AT8024 Stereo/Mono Camera-Mount Microphone provides a high-resolution audio capture solution for video applications using DSLR and other video cameras. Users can choose between line-cardioid mono and internally matrixed mid-side stereo modes to suit different environments. The mono setting focuses the recording on a single sound source for clarity, while the stereo mode widens the field to provide realistic sonic depth and spatial accuracy.
The AT8024 features a three-position adjustable attenuator with settings of 0 dB, -10 dB, and -20 dB. This range allows the device to capture both soft audio and very loud sound sources without distortion. A switchable low-frequency roll-off further enhances audio quality by reducing the pickup of ambient noise, room reverberation, and mechanically coupled vibrations.
Integral rubber shock mounts isolate the microphone capsule from vibration and mechanical camera noise during operation. The compact, lightweight design includes an integral camera shoe mount for rapid and secure attachment to shoe-equipped camcorders and DSLRs.
A single AA battery powers the unit to ensure optimal performance and high maximum sound pressure levels. A dedicated red/green LED power indicator provides clear visual status of the microphone's power state during use.
