Advanced Ribbon Technology

The AT4080 features the innovative MicroLinear™ ribbon imprint, which protects the dual ribbons from lateral flexing and distortion to ensure long-lasting performance. This dual ribbon construction increases sensitivity, while extremely powerful N50 rare earth magnets provide a high output level. The microphone utilizes phantom-powered active electronics to maintain stable impedance and ensure maximum compatibility with various microphone preamplifiers.

Superior Audio Reproduction

The bidirectional (figure-of-eight) polar pattern captures sound equally from the front and back of the element. An acoustic baffle system combined with an extra-large output transformer provides a natural low-frequency response and extended dynamic range. High-SPL capability and an extended frequency response allow for natural audio reproduction across professional recording, broadcast, and sound reinforcement applications.

Handcrafted Construction and Design

Every AT4080 undergoes a handmade production process, including ribbon corrugation, imprint, and assembly. The housing assembly features an open acoustical environment to minimize unwanted internal reflections and maintain high-fidelity sound. For added protection, an ultra-fine mesh guards the ribbon against damage.
